5. Organizational Legitimacy and Recognition:
Answer: We assume that by “true MMHCA” you mean our elected Board of MMHCA. Yes, MMHCA has access to the important contacts in government as does our lobbyist. We are receiving the dues paid through the membership registration portal on mmhcaNow.org and we are using the funds to support members and the counseling profession. We are not spending the funds to pay individuals or an ED.
AMHCA is choosing to remain neutral regarding our situation at this point. Individuals who are also AMHCA members may want to contact them to voice your support for MMHCA and your displeasure for what Mr. Blundo and the DBA Michigan LPCs group are doing.
