Member news

What we send members every month.

Members get an email at the start of each month: what moved in Lansing, which free sessions are running and when, and anything a payer has changed that affects billing. The archive is summarized here in the open, because the honest way to show what membership is worth is to show what it actually contains.

All three are included with membership and require advance registration, which is open to members, because the groups are deliberately kept small enough that everyone gets airtime. Exact dates go out in the monthly email.

Forty-five minutes, once a month

The most useful thing MMHCA produces is a room where somebody asks the question you were too busy to ask.

A collage of counselors at in-person professional sessions: people seated at tables with books and printed papers, listening, taking notes and talking in small groups
Consultation groups and Q&A sessions run on Zoom so counselors anywhere in the state can attend. There is no separate site login for members: Zoom registration is the member gate, made with the email on your membership record and confirmed against the roster; the association also meets in person at conferences and regional events.

Members hear first, every time.

When a payer changes a billing rule or a bill moves in committee, the member email is where it appears first. Membership is open to LPCs, LLPCs, graduate students, counselor educators, supervisors and retired counselors across Michigan.
